As we’re back in another full lockdown I thought I’d revive this Music In Isolation series (if anything, just to give myself something to do!) to share things I’ve been listening to and enjoying.
This technicolour front cover caught my eye on Exclaim back in 2019 and the review went on to pique my interest with its description of “emo math rock” (not a fusion I’d come across before) and 9/10 rating. It’s not far removed from those early ’00s bands with numbers in their names (you know the ones I mean) that soundtracked the American Pie films but with a ‘math rock’ twist, which basically means much more intricate musicianship. I think it’s an absolute blast.
